Absopure and the Teal Pumpkin Project
The tricks and treats of Halloween are something every child should be able to enjoy. Unfortunately, some children are unable to enjoy this tradition due to dietary restrictions, allergies or conditions like Type 1 Diabetes. The Teal Pumpkin Project is an initiative that is trying to promote inclusion for everyone, and we at Absopure couldn’t be more on board with it!
The Teal Pumpkin Project is an initiative that was created by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in order to spread awareness surrounding some of the difficulties children with dietary restrictions, food allergies and conditions like Type 1 Diabetes face during fun holidays like Halloween.
The idea is simple, either print out a sign displaying your involvement with the Teal Pumpkin Project, or take it a step further and actually paint one of your pumpkins teal! It’s a great way to spread awareness about the project and also let’s participating children know which houses have options for them!
So, if you’re not handing out candy then what should you hand out? According to FARE, a great list of options includes:
- Glow sticks, bracelets, or necklaces
- Pencils, pens, crayons or markers
- Bubbles
- Halloween erasers or pencil toppers
- Mini Slinkies
- Whistles, kazoos, or noisemakers
- Bouncy balls
- Finger puppets or novelty toys
- Coins
- Spider rings
- Vampire fangs
- Mini notepads
- Playing cards
- Bookmarks
- Stickers
- Stencils
We also strongly encourage you to consider including something like Absopure Packables into your list of treats. Our packable portion fits nicely in any treat holder and will be a refreshing option after a night of running from house to house.
