Absopure Sponsors Running Fit’s Martian Marathon
Each year, thousands of enthusiastic runners invade the city of Dearborn for Running Fit’s annual Martian Marathon. This year was no different. Even though Mother Nature threatened to derail the event with snow flurries and freezing rain, dedicated runners turned out to fare the elements, and each race went off without a hitch.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in Martian Marathon madness, then you know what we mean when we say it’s an out-of-this-world experience. From the expo to the spirit zones, the theme is perfectly executed throughout the entire event. Which is perhaps the reason why it’s one of Absopure’s favorite spring season races to sponsor.
Whether you’re new to the running community or lace up your running shoes everyday, this race has an event for everyone. Featuring a 1.2-mile kids marathon, a 5K and 10K race, and a half-marathon and full-marathon, Martian Marathon is perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels.
Juli Peterson, a first-time Martian Marathon participant, reflected on the event and said, “When my trusty race buddy told me about the Martian Marathon 10K, I was a little apprehensive because I only had one month to train, but I really wanted the awesome medal! Although the weather wasn’t as warm as I was hoping, I did well and really enjoyed the diverse terrain of the course.”
Thank you to everyone who helped get this race up and running. It wouldn’t have been a success without all of the hardworking volunteers. We wanted to give a special shout out to Your Pace or Mine Running Club for passing out our all-natural spring water at the hydration stations!
